(A side note: Cà Phê Sữa Đá is made with sweetened condensed milk because fresh milk or cream couldn’t easily be found in 19th century Vietnam.) It takes about 15 minutes or more to make a proper Cà Phê Sữa Đá using a unique Vietnamese style metal pour-over drip filter called a Phin. You will pour boiling water over your coffee grounds in the Phin 3 to 4 times to achieve about 3 oz of cà phê.
